WiFi CF Cards for Mobile Phone

Sophia System, a Japanese company, have created the first CF (Compact Flash) card that can provide WiFi access to cell phone. Currently, the card only compatible with Windows CE Operating system, but according to the company, WiFi card with Windows Mobile OS compability will be available at the end of the year. The card also allows access into the PHS net where the customer can also look forward to effective cost savings.
PHS systems are based on a combination of TDD and TDMA access. To put it rather simply, this technology makes it possible for the service provider to offer the user data transfers at cheaper rates since it operates at a lower mW power rating and has a smaller range.
Codenamed “SGVP”, the WiFi card is available in two packages: the stand alone edition, or bundled with the terminal – manufactured by the same company.
