This is cool, too bad I don’t have a GPS device yet. According to TomTom, the company will soon release a downloadable celebrity voices for its portable / car navigation devices by the end of the year. Will Andre, the CEO of TomTom, mentioned that the add-on aims to bring a change to current voices and provide drivers with something new for them to listen to. The price is $10, or if you don’t have much money left, you can also purchase the generic character voices – such as surfer dude, cowboy, or valley girl – for just $5.

For the start, there’ll be three celebrity voices you can choose: Mr. T, Burt Reynolds, and Dennis Hopper. You can expect to hear something like this from Mr. T on your GPS

“Mr. T gonna get you there in one piece… you gonna be there safely — or else!”

or Burt Reynolds saying,

“Man, my career has really gone downhill. I really wish I had won that Oscar for Boogie Nights, that was my last shot. Take a left at the lights.”
