Probably a little bit late, but here’s the Z550 cell phone from Sony Ericsson announced this week. Comes in a combination of a premium brushed metal and high gloss material finished, the phone features a 1.3 megapixel camera module with 4x digital zoom and video recording capability, a bright 262K colors 220×176 pixels internal TFT display, 128×36 pixels external STN display, and 20MB of onboard memory with Memory Stick Micro (M2) slot for additional storage up to 1GB. There’s a USB 2.0 support, as well as Bluetooth connectivity, so you can easily synchronize the phone book and calendar, and also transfer and manage multimedia files on the phone.

The GPRS Z550 clamshell phone is planned to release in the third quarter of 2006. Two flavours will be available – Sterling Black and Pearl Copper – along with two variants, the Z550i (Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific) and Z550c (Mainland China).
