Here’s another new Walkman cell phone from Sony Ericsson that I mentioned before. And sorry that it took more than a few hours to write this article. Well now, let’s get on to the business.

Sony Ericsson W850 is the company first GSM/UMTS slider phone with 2-inch 260K colors QVGA TFT LCD screen, 2 megapixel camera in full horizontal mode with flash, 4x digital zoom, video recording capability, and the latest Walkman player 2.0 that supports a wide-range of audio format (MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAC+/m4a), music straming, and OTA music download. Upon music playback, the phone will give illumination effect to the control keys in rhythm with the currently played music. Pretty cool, isn’t it?

Still about the music player, W850 phone offers easy navigation through music genres, playlists, individual songs or music albums. A TrackID feature, powered by Gracenot Mobile MusicID, is also available on this handsets. This feature lets you record some part of a song, either via the microphone or the in built FM radio, and then send that song clip to the Gracenote worldwide music database. It will then identify the track and relay the information back to the cell phone.

To keep all of your songs, the phone offers a 1GB memory stick PRO Duo in the bundle. That’s enough for around 1000 songs in e-AAC+ format. However, up to 4GB of memory supported, so if you need more storage just purchase a bigger capacity PRO Duo card.

The W850 allows users to identify and buy music in a new and spontaneous way – hearing tracks they like, identifying them with TrackID™ and downloading them to the phone.”

The tri-band (900/1800/1900) GSM/UMTS (2100) W850 Walkman cell phone will start shipping in Q3 2006 in two flavours – Precious Black or Golden White.
