Seiko SVRD0001 e-Paper WatchSeiko, a Japanese watch manufacturer, has launched their new watch, the Spectrum SVRD001 model, that uses flexible e-Paper or Electrophoretic Display (EPD). Become the first watch that implements this technology, SVRD001 is available in January 2006 as a limited edition (only 500 units worldwide) for 1900 EUR.

The watch has a bracelet design and the body is made of stainless steel and a black and white e-paper. It’s 134g weighs and 37mm thick.

Electronic paper, or e-paper, is a technology that allows the text on a piece of paper to be re-written. The “paper” is actually made of organic electronics that use conductive plastic which contains tiny balls that respond to an electric charge, changing the page in much the same way that pixels change on a computer monitor.
