We couldn't find this sword ANYWHERE but Amazon.com! My son had one piece of the saber "come apart" on Christmas Day. He's 8 so he wasn't excessively rough with it so I'm not sure what happened. He still loves it and still plays with it but after about a week we can plan on repairing that same side at least once a day. FORTUNATELY he still loves it!

My son loves this, but I am constantly fixing it. I wish it were made of hard plastic like the other lightsabers we have rather than the flimsy plastic. The "lights" are also not very bright, and don't work very well. However, for my 4.5 year old, he loves being able to be Darth Maul. If a more durable lightsaber for DM comes out, I will definitely get it, but I would not replace it with this one.

I understand that this toy is intended to go along with a costume and not to be used in (play) battle but the plastic and very flimsy "blades" break right off/fall out of the gray handle with little more than a tap on the floor. Very disappointing. It seems as though the company could have avoided this by using hard plastic solid pieces as blades rather than the corkscrews that have to be pulled out of the center.
