Nokia have unveiled the triband GSM (900/1800/1900) N5500 cell phone. The phone, targetted at active minded consumers, features a three dedicated modes. One is the standard phone mode, second is the music mode to hear your favourite music, and the last one is the sport mode which helps users to keep track of exercises. When this sport mode is activated, the phone will display its integrated pedometer that monitors distance walked or calories burned or the rigorous cardio session. Nokia also provide a text to speech feature in this mode so users can hear it read their new messages without having to stop their jogging. Some information from the pedometer can be read-out-loud as well.

The Nokia 5500 cell phone will be available by 3rd Quarter 2006 for 300 Euros or around $385.
