This is a handy guide from PMag (written by Michael Kobrin) that give you a useful hint and information on how to choose a good Flash-based portable MP3 player. It covers almost every aspect of a digital music player, including the sound, the supported file, the display, and other additional features that might be important. Of course the price is also under his consideration.
In the end, the guide recommends several MP3 players for you.They are the iPod Nano from Apple, YP-Z5 from Samsung, and iAudio U3 from Cowon. I vote for the Nano, ’cause there are several cool iPod’s accessories like this and this

If you have a Mac, you’ve got two options: an iPod, or a device that is USB Mass Storage Class–compliant (USB MC), meaning it can be plugged into a computer without software installation and be managed via drag-and-drop. Many popular players work only with Windows Media Player (WMP) on machines running Windows, and some USB MC players can work with WMP as well.
