SMobile Systems yesterday announced the availability of VirusGuard from RIM’s Blackberry devices. VirusGuard is the first antivirus product compatible with the Blackberry platform. Why do you need antivirus for your BlackBerry? There is not one known virus that can run on RIM’s BlackBerry OS. Getting an antivirus program for your BlackBerry is a waste of time, effort and money(if you pay for it).
Some viruses are OS independent. To say that a virus could not affect the e-mail client program or any data files stored on RIM’s OS is the most naive and irresponsible thing to say. Don’t think that RIM would never become a target.
Backups protect the data integrity and help recover lost data. At the same time it also backs up any viruses and make them available upon a restore.
So data integrity and security do overlap, but they both need to be addressed.
I just got a free virus scan on my black berry 8900 and it found two worm viruses and a trojan virus.I have sevral. Corrupted files and. My internet speed has been more than cut in half (verry slow)ever time I try to download a anti virus program it always says its either not supported or their is some kind of problem.I am verry tired of people saying that it can’t happen.that is not true.does any one have any advise.
