Previously introduced during CEATEC 2006, LG now brings “Simple Link (SIMPLINK)” technology to Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007. This technology provides major improvements to the current TV technologies as it gives full control to users over their TV and home theater system with a simple click and operation. For example, inserting a disc onto the player would automatically turn on the TV and play the movie. In other way, users can turn off the TV and the whole home theater system would automatically turn itself off. Moreover, users can simply select TV, DVD, HD Recorder, and HTiB through easy and convenient TV GUI.

LG plans to equipped SIMPLINK onto all of its LCD TVs released this year. One of them, currently being displayed at CES 2007, is the 42-inch 42LC7D LCD TV. Specs-wise, this PC-compatible display, features a resolution of 1366×768p, a brightness of 500cd/m2, True Viewing angle, and a contrast ratio of 600:1. It is also equipped with built-in NTSC / ATSC / Clear QAM tuner, XD Engine, and two Simple Link-enabled HDMI ports.
