Other than HDR-HC3, Sony also shown off its new high-definition camcorder, the HDR-FX7 1080i HDV camcorder at CEATEC 2006 exhibition. Incorporated three-chip ClearVID CMOS Sensor technology, it can record and playback both 1080i HDV and standard definition DV video on standard miniDV tapes. Later, the recorded HDV video can be edited with a provided non-linear editing software. Furthermore, the digital camcorder is packed with several interesting features, such as slow motion recording and dual mode recording. By utilizing its three sensor, HDR-FX7 can capture a six-second burst of video and play it back in 24 seconds as slow motion video. As for the dual record function, it lets users to capture 1.2 megapixel still images and shoot video simultaneously, with the press of a button. Wow.

According to the company, HDR-FX7 camcorder will start shipping later this month with a price tag of around $3,500.
