Toshiba Satellite L40 Laptop Unveiled

Toshiba Korea recently updated its Satellite series laptop’s portfolio by releasing the new “Satellite L40″. This 14.1-inch (1280×800) machine, with a suggested price of 790,000 (KRW), boasts an Intel Celeron M440 (1.86GHz) processor, a 512MB of 667MHz DDR2 RAM, an 80GB of SATA hard drive, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950 graphics engine, a DVD Combo, and a 6-cell battery. Measures 357 x 269.5 x 28.8 ~ 36.5mm and weighs 2.75kg, the laptop is equipped with a variety of connectivity options (WiFI, Bluetooth, 56K modem) and preloaded with Windows Vista Home Basic edition operating system.

I got the same problem, but i my sit uation, i cant instal XP , because i have not right drivers for HDD
me too . i cant install xp. we need to install hdd driver or need to change setup . but i cant chante the setup. there is no option for sata drive.

It’s battery may be not go on long time. just 30 minute it work & Then battery is ”FINISHED”

Toshiba is a fhuckin’ squad of jerks and a_s_sholes, working togheter for the profit of RedMond’ MS . Anyone could see this in the politics of the customer support. If they wouldn’t act as a serves for BigBrother M$ , they should offer until now the drivers for XP and why not, backward compatibility with the older versions of Windows.
Thanks to enthusiastic people from the Open Source world, we may install Linux on such junks as L40. And Linux will see also the SATA disks and the other stuff.
Try Ubuntu/Debian or SuSE instead Windows – or die with your laptop in hands, installing Vista. You don’t want to die with Vista? Well, then you’ll have to upgrade your memory size, from 512Mb to at least 2Gb, to work fine with that Vista junk.

I have Toshiba Satellite L40 with Dual-Core 1.75ghz 256mb Intel Graphics Display and 1gb ram but Hitman: Blood Money still doesn’t works? what can be the problem? the matter is that Hitman: Blood Money game requires less system specifications than i have.

hi i have a toshiba L40 10x and it was running very slow, so i decided to restore it to its original factory settings, however my restor disk is scratch and it wont work, so now i cant do anything with my computor, does anybody know where i can get another copy of the disk, download if possible

I solved the issue of installing XPSP2 on this laptop (L40) but now I have another issue.. the wireless driver doesn’t seem to be great. I installed it (it’s realtek) .. all good, but the wireless connection that I want to connect to (an Qubs router), I see it, but it’s constantly trying to acquire network address and IP-s (that should take automate). I tryed to manually set the IP-s but .. i have the same case, nothing is changing.. he’s in the same continuous search of network address and signal. In the status section I have a wick response of packets sent and received.
!!!!
there is any solution to this, do you have any ideea of something else to do!?!..
