As I said before, Panasonic today presents two new rugged PCs, the Toughbook CF-30 laptop and Toughbook CF-19 convertible laptop. I’ve talked about the notebook before, so now it’s time to dig the tablet PC. The similarities, like CF-30, CF-19 tablet PC is also comes with a durable (magnesium alloy) material and shock-proof structure (shock-mounted touch screen and hard drives). The military standard, MIL-STD-810F, promises the machine to withstand drops, shock, vibrations, and extremes in temperature. While its 10.4-inch touch screen display provides a very portable unit which won’t make stuffed your bagpack.
Furthermore, the Toughbook CF-19 tablet PC offers a handy security features, including Trusted Platform Module (TPM v1.2) security chip, a cable lock slot, and optional fingerprint scanner. While on the connectivity side, it supports WLAN, WWAN, and Bluetooth. Other features include a GPS functionalities, up to 6 hours of battery life, and optional SmartCard reader.
Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 Convertible Laptop will hit the store starting from December 2006. It will be available exclusively through authorized Panasonic Toughbook resellers nationwide and will have have a price tag of $4,200.
