New Hitachi Flora BD and SE Series Laptop

Hitachi Flora LaptopHitachi has just released several BD and SE series laptops under its Flora range – Flora bd100A2, Flora bd100B3, and Flora SE210 model. Both BD series notebooks measures 30.8 x 387 x 126 mm and weighs around 1.2kg. The bd100A2 laptop is powered by a Celeron M 420 processor, 512MB of RAM, and 40GB of HDD; while the bd100B3 will carry a Core Solo T1300 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 80GB of HDD. The price for those machines, respectively, are $1,198 (135,450 Yen) and $1,672 (189,000 Yen). Both will hit the market on June, 20th.

What about the Flora SE210 laptop? Dubbed as Security PC, this notebook boasts its enhanced security function that includes a biometrics finger vein protection. That’s correct, not finger print. Powered by a Celeron 800Mhz processor and 256 of RAM, this laptop is built as a “real” client computer as it doesn’t have its own hard disk drive. You have to connect it to server if you want to use it. Measures 275 x 233 x 30.7 mm and weighs 1.27kg, Hitachi’s Flora SE210 notebook is planned to release on June 16th for $1,718 (194,250 Yen). A variant with no biometrics function is also available for $1,486 (168,000 Yen).
