NEC’s HDTV PC
Kinda confused here. The press release is talking about desktop PC, while the company supplied a picture of notebook. Oh well, maybe it’s just the translation..
Anyway, NEC has released LaVie T, their PC with HDTV tuner capability. It takes advantage of their real-time Mpeg2 decoding/encoding card, the HD VISITAL engine. This PC with HDTV tuner is capable of displaying videos from the TV tuner in HD. It also comes with “SoundVu”, NEC technology for making the entire screen as the speaker. Aside from that, the PC is powered by Pentium M 740 processor and 512MB of RAM (can be upgraded to 2GB). It has 15″ WXGA (1280×800) display, 160GB HDD, and +- DL burner.
