Inspiron E1501 – First AMD-Based Laptop From Dell

Dell has just released the Inspiron E1501, the company’s first laptop powered by AMD processor. Available immediately through Dell’s online store (link at the end of article), the notebook features a 15.4-inch widescreen display, an ATI Radeon XPress 1150 graphics engine with up to 256MB of shared memory, a 512MB of RAM, a 60GB of hard drive, and DVD/CD-RW combo drive. Runs on Windows XP Home Edition operating system, the machine is equipped with Dell’s Wireless 1390 8802.11g Mini Card for WiFI connectivity as well.

The basic configuration of Inspiron E1501 laptop will be retailed for $549 and have an AMD Sempron 3500+ processor. However, consumers can also choose to install either Turion 64 and Turion 64 X2 (dual core) processor, but of course, with an extra price.
