After the Inspiron E1501, Dell announced another AMD-based laptop, the first one on the Latitude series, Latitude 131L. This 15.4-inch widescreen business notebook is available immediately through Dell’s online store for $629 (base configuration with Mobile Sempron). An additional $250 will have the machine loaded with the dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 CPU.
On specs department, Latitude 131L features an ATI RS485M / SB600 chipset, an integrated ATI R485M graphics engine with up to 224MB of shared memory, four USB ports, ExpressCard/54 slot, a 3-in-1 media card reader (SD/SDIO/MMC), and wide-range of connectivity, including WiFI, Ethernet LAN, and 56K modem. Weighs 6.38lb, the notebook is also equipped with a 6-cell battery, however, no info regarding the battery life.
