Asus presented three new members of its popular Eee PC series mini laptop — the Eee PC 901, Eee PC 1000, and Eee PC 1000H — during Computex 2008 event in Taipei. The Eee PC 901 model is the successor of the low-cost 8.9-inch Eee PC 900 mini notebook PC. Weighs 2.42-pounds, Eee PC 901 is powered by an Intel Atom processor, a 1GB of main memory, Bluetooth, and 802.11n WiFI connectivity. It is also equipped with an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module and a battery that lasts for up to 7.8 hours.
Customers can choose between a 12GB SSD and pre-installed Windows XP Home edition; or a 20GB SSD and Linux OS. With that one gig of RAM, WinXP is a better choice I guess.
Asus Eee PC 901 mini laptop is retailed at around $559 in Taiwan. No words on international pricing.
