[CES] TwinHead DURABOOK D13RY and D14RY Rugged Laptops

TwinHead Corporation presents two DURABOOK rugged laptops with cool name, D13RY and D14RY, during CES 2007 event in Las Vegas. The first has a 13.3-inch WXGA TFT LCD display, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module, and 4×1W stereo speakers; while the latter boasts a non-glare 14.1-inch XGA TFT LCD display. Being a rugged notebook which comply U.S. military 810F standards, both models are equipped with a magnesium-alloy cases that is 20 times stronger than ABS plastic, spill-resistant, and anti-shock mounting design which protects the display and the HDD from damage and data loss upon accidental drop or bumps. They also incorporated an exclusive optical disc tray lock, preventing unintentional tray eject from drop and vibration. Furthermore, the double protection smart battery circuitry avoids damage caused by current or voltage surges and overheating, while Twinhead’s Smart Battery Calibration helps fight the loss of battery capacity after repeated charge-discharge cycles.

Regarding security, the DURABOOK D13RY and D14RY laptops are protected by the optional TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 1.2. It provides hardware-based secure environment based on the security protection being built within the PC hardware itself. Other features include an up to 100GB hard drive, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics engine, WiFI connectivity, an optional Bluetooth, and either a dual-layered DVD or Super-Multi DVD burner. Both notebooks are pre-loaded with Windows XP (either Professional or Home Edition) OS, and fully compatible with the upcoming Windows Vista.
