Is UMPC going to be the next standard of mobile device or even PC? Not sure yet since most of UMPCs already available on the market are still far from perfect. However, the C1 Group is trying to steal the early pie of the UMPC market share by developing the C1 Ultra Mobile PC. Like other similar devices, the C1 combined mobile entertainment, communications, and computing on a single compact yet stylish package.
Powered by VIA Eden (1GHz) processor, the C1 UMPC is equipped with 1GB of DDR RAM, 80GB of HDD, 360-degrees 8.4-inch touch screen TFT LCD with 800×600 SVGA resolution and S3 UMA graphics engine. On the surface, there are three USB 2.0 ports, infrared, PCMCIA slots, and both headphone and microphone jacks. Runs under Microsoft Windows XP operating system, it also provides several handy applications, such as pen-writing recognition, virtual keyboard, multimedia player, e-book viewer, and online dictionary. And for the connectivity options, the C1 UMPC offers WiFI, Bluetooth, and Ethernet LAN.
Measures 231 x 192 x 42 mm and weighs 1.19kg, C1 Ultra Mobile PC is currently available for $2,595.
