Still from Mega Bazaar Computer 2006 event, here’s another (late) report of the highlighted product from its participants. This time I want to let you know about this very cheap local brand laptop, Axioo, especially the Centaur SL Series. Want to know why I said it’s very cheap? Well, check out the specs: Intel Centrino Pentium M 740 (1.73GHz) processor with 2MB L2 cache and 533Mhz FSB, Intel 915GM, 512MB of DDR2 SDRAM, 60GB of hard drive, Intel GMA 900 DVMT 3.0 with up to 128MB of shared memory, 4-in-1 card reader (SD/MMC/MS/MSPro), integrated webcam, and 14.1-inch widescreen LCD. With all the standard features such as WiFI support, 10/100 Ethernet, 56K modem, four USB 2.0 ports, and TV-Out, it only cost you around $900 (current exchange rate). A great deal, isn’t it?

Above is the Centaur SL 756 model. A slightly different specs, with cheaper price, is available in the Centaur SL 626 model. Instead of Pentium M 740 and 512MB of RAM, this laptop comes with an Intel Centrino Pentium M 730 (1.6GHz) processor and 256MB of DDR2 SDRAM. The price is around $828. Not much different from the SL 756, and if I have to choose, of course I’m going for the SL 756 one. Just spend an extra $75 to receive an additional 256MB of memory and faster processor is really tempting, you know.

Btw, to remind you, this is a local brand and probably only available in my country, Indonesia. Well, after a lot of “Only in Japan” stuff, I guess now I can be proud and say this one is “Only in Indonesia”
