The U5F laptop from Asus has joined the growing list of product featured at the Computex 2006 exhibition held earlier this month at Taipei. This slim and stylish notebook sports its embedded TPM module that provides the ability to run applications more securely and to perform electronic transactions and communication more safely through a specific chipset / microcontroller that can store secured information. The TPM specification is the work of the TPM Work Group, under the auspices of the Trusted Computing Group.

Apart from the TPM, Asus U5F laptop is equipped with an Intel Centrino Duo Mobile technology – consist of Intel Core Duo processor, Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset, and Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network connection -, 512MB of DDR2 RAM (expandable up to 1.5GB), up to 120GB, three USB 2.0 ports, Express Card slot, IEEE3194 interface. Measures 27.4 x 23.17 x 2.75 ~ 3.35 cm and weighs 1.4kg, the laptop also comes with Asus proprietary Splendid Video Intelligent Engine as well as three connectivity options – Gigabit Ethernet, Wireless LAN, and Bluetooth V2.0+EDR.
