Couple days ago, Sony Ericsson officially released the new Walkman series handset, W205. Measures 92 x 47 x 16.4mm and weighs 96 grams, this GSM cell phone features an integrated 1.3 megapixel camera module with 2.2x digital zoom and video recording capability, pre-installed Opera Mini web browser, FM radio with RDS and direct recording capability, multimedia player, Bluetooth, MMS, and voice recorder. Like other Walkman handsets, W205 also comes with a host of wonderful music features, including Walkman player supporting MP3 and AAC formats, playlist, Shuffle and Loop mode, album art, and TrackID that instantly identify the tunes and artist at a press of a button

According to Timo Maassmann, Sony Ericsson’s marketing business manager, “The W205 is perfect for those who love portable music but have never had the Walkman™ phone experience. The W205 is a stylish slider phone allowing you to enjoy your music wherever you are – whether it’s on the bus, at college or chilling in the park. You can also share more than music with the 1.3 megapixel camera. Capture the action in stills or video and send them to friends via MMS or via Bluetooth™. The multiple phonebook function is an added bonus – share your phone with your family but keep your contacts separate from theirs.”

Other features include a 1.8-inch display with 128 x 160 resolution and 65K colors, 5MB of internal memory with Memory Stick Micro (M2) media card slot (up to 2GB supported), and up to 9 hours of talk time (or 425 hours of standby time). Sony Ericsson W205 cell phone will be available very soon this year, followed by its variant, W205a, in the third quarter of 2009.
