“Cocoon” is the upcoming clamshell phone from O2. This stylish and beatiful handset offers an integrated 2 megapixel camera module with flash and AF plus, Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP support, a 2GB onboard memory with microSD card slot for external storage, and a dedicated music control on the front panel. Talking about the panel, you can also find a LED light that displays the time and caller ID. I supposed it’ll display the current status of the phone as well, such as incoming call / text message / email. Moreover, Cocoon runs on GSM/GPRS/3G network and features a FM radio alarm clock, a 3.5mm socket, and the ability to download DRM-Free AAC iTunes Plus.

O2 Cocoon Cell Phone will hit the UK store in August with a price tag of $590 or about £300.

This phone is as cool and stylish as it looks, The LED light display is probably the key feature of the phone, which indeed looks very nice. The O2 cacoon comes with a “nest” in which you can do 3 things, charge your phone via socket or USB port, use for a FM radio on the external speakers (works only when plugged into a socket) or use it to sync with your pc. If you use Ms outlook, its very handy to have the sync feature, as anyplans can be uploaded very fast.
Another key feature about this phone is the music player, it sync’s with W-media player when using the usb port (you dont use the nest for this). Its hard to get your head around at first, but becomes clear after about 5 mins. The sound volume isnt very loud, but quality is 2nd to none.

The only flaw(s) with this phone is the battery life, using your Mp3 player will drain it very fast, and the volume is low, to compensate you can set the audio for suround sound, when using the headset, it makes all your music HD quality.
