I have a Mio A702 but wold not recommend to anyone to buy this again. They don't release any UPDATE, the support it's practically ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO .....MITAC company please keep in mind that support for customs it's make the differences between manufacturer's.
GPS it's OK but it's very SLOW .... at over 100km/h it's showing a difference with over 20km/h. However in the city it's OK and accurate.
MITAC....if you hear us screaming please do something and provide updates !!!!!

I live in Brisbane and I bought my A702 thru internet order 3 weeks ago , and delivered within 24 hours from Melbourne, and I am happy with it so far for the $499 special price purchase.

It is amazing such a small unit packed with features.

I am still experimenting but it seems things work . Battery might last only about half day when I am using non-stop wireless to internet or GPS on full charge battery. Just as a phone, on standby, should last a few days.

GPS use in a car quite good and useful with strong suction cup holder.

I suspect slow CPU specification 200MHz may be manufacturer attempt to extend battery life, as faster cpu would use more electricity, and shoter battery life.

The unit froze while switching tasks and I had to take battery out to restore response. After all this is a Microsoft Windows, what do you expect :-)

I might buy a 640X480 resolution system in future, but for now, I am happy playing with it everyday .

Hi,
I am an owner of the MIO A702. Melbourne Australia.
The phone works fine except sometimes when talking, my ear opens certain applications by accident because of the Windows Mobile Touch screen.
Camera takes very nice photos but is a bit slow.
The GPS works very well in the city but is a little slow in updating map on the freeway at 100 km\hr. This I am not comparing to any other GPS as I've never used one before.
A faster processor would make a big difference.
By the way, it fell out of my pocket onto concrete a week after I got it and only a small un-noticible speck on the body was the only damage.
The quality of workmanship is excellent.
It's a very nice and classy looking hamburger with the lot .
Over all, I'm quite happy with it but would be even happier with a faster processor.
Hope this helps those who want a hamburger with the lot.

BJF1 is well known on the Mio A701 user site for being rabid about the fact that Mio is developing a new phone. The reason buy BKF got bugs was because he used a non Mio ROM that was poorly developed and had problems. The Mio standard ROMs did exactly what the make said they would.
The Mio A702 looks like a good development and certainly isn't what the rabid comments of one vengful (check his remarks on miousers) person says they are.

I completely agree with what bkf1 stated above. I am the unfortunate owner of the A700 and receive no support from the company.

I've requested updates from them on several occasions using their online facility, but they don't even bother responding to my requests.

I strongly urge anybody even thinking about obtaining one of their devices to seriously consider any alternative since no other company can be so bad at support is Mitac.

DON'T BUY THIS PDA!!!

I would like to warn you everyone. Mitac company provides no support to theirs customers. Everything they want is only your money. When

you found some bugs (and believe me there is many many MANY bugs in their devices) they don't want to fix it with releasing ROM update.

So you must fix it by yourself or wait for someone on the internet who would fix it but MOST of bugs are so hard to fix that none of

people on the internet can fix it. Only Mitac can fix it but they don't want to. They only wants to make money releasing new devices not

to provide any support. Mitac has great designers but theirs ROM development team is full of unskilled newbies. Please my friends be

smart don't waste your money for Mitac PDAs full of bugs. It would be MUCH MUCH MUCH better to buy some device from E-Ten or HTC..
Please post this message to every forum or discussion you will find to warn as many people as you can!!!
