Comments on: HP iPAQ 512 Voice Messenger PDA Phone

This phone has amny funtions. However, i cant really understand why the Bluethooth serial port is not working properly. I tried so many time to use PPC to connect to internet through IPAQ 512 but failed. And cant even dial a call from PPC to IPAQ 512 via bluethooth. This make me feel frustrated. Other phones are functioning well with their bluethooth serial port. Hope someone can help me on this.

I have been using this phone for 3 months. I noticed that, the major problem with it is the battery. Sometimes my phone’s battery can last for 2 days with normal rate of incoming and outgoing calls. but, sometimes it wont last for a day, even it is already fully charged in the morning and without doing any call!!

The 2nd problem I encountered recently is, my phone will automatically shut off by itself (even the battery indicator shows FULLY CHARGED). I wonder why? hurmmm

Anyway, its a cool gadget from the outside for showing off purposes.hehheh.

my review after 1 year using this phone…

1st.. wifi range good.
2nd. 1.3mp camera.. from 1 to 10… i rate only 2+..
3rd. mp3 tone.. very easy to select mp3 tone from memory card. all of u just read the manual again.
4rd. need to unlock and overclock to make diz phone run faster. i have unlock my phone & its run smoothly……
5th. memory up to 4gb.
6th. bad news for hp user… non of the hp model will be upgrade…. i dun know why… but i alredy ask the retailer….. they said it cant be upgrade. why HP… why….???

its been two months and i’ve seldom used this phone!
the worst problem i always encounter is:
when i try to disconnect a call, its just not possible??? Also i’m unable to terminate a call at will. Its a great phone but some issues need be fixed up.
There’s no way to know how to connect this phone thru USB @ Active Sync RNDIS mode, the modem just wont show!!! WTF?
On a scale of 10 i’ll rate this phone at 2+

Hi there im using this pphone too. I want to refer to the WILLIAM message.. THERE IS MP3 TONE MY FRIEND~ You have to transfer the tone to the phone’s memory. NOT THE SD MEMORY CARD.

Its a pretty cool phone but i think the VOICE MESSENGER is not at its best. It does not recognise all commands and names in the phone list.

I am having a pain in my neck with this dumb IPAQ512. Once u activated MSN, hunderds of MSN contacts will flood your phone contact list, and there is no way to sort them or classify them. U have to painfully remove one by one.

Besides, there is NO multi-language support, I don’t understand why microsoft can’t use the unicode for its Windows Mobile.

No MP3 tone, no radio, all these fundamental features are available on most other handphone these day with wireless connection built-in, but not i IPAQ512.
