Alltel and Kyocera Present The Strobe Cell Phone

Kyocera Wireless, together with Alltel Wireless, recently announced the Strobe, their new fashionable cell phone with curved and stylish candybar design. Interestingly, the phone can be flipped lengthwise to unveil an internal color display and full QWERTY keyboard. Users can open and close the clamshell continously without interrupting the process. It kinda remind me of Nokia’s Communicator series (N9300 and N9500), but this handset has better display on the front and cooler hourglass-like figure. From the screenshot, you can also check out the looped antenna on the top side of the phone.
Kyocera Strobe cell phone features an integrated VGA camera module, speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, Bluetooth connectivity, BREW 2.3.1, and Axcess Instant Messaging function that allows users to chat with AOL Instant Messenger and Yahoo! Messenger. Alltel customers can use an existing IM account or sign up for a new one. The phone is currently available through Alltel with a price tag of $89.99. New customers can receive up to $40 discounted price on two years service agreement, as well as existing eligible customers on qualifying rate plans.

i have this phone. its nice i guess. takes bad pictures, and kinda bulky.
I wanted a strobe but after reading the comment that amanda posted about it taking bad pictures and being bulky, i dont know.

The strobe is the best phone I’ve ever owned…….. And It’s not that bulky. It’s 1 inch thick… with two screens & two key pads, so do you expect the phone to be as thin as a Razor ?
