Three new members of Panasonic Lumix series digital cameras are now ready to make their appearance to public — Lumix DMC-FS12, Lumix DMC-FS62, and Lumix DMC-FS42 models. Let’s take a look at the specs on each model. The first one, FS12, boasts a 12 megapixel sensor, a 4x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD screen, and a host of wonderful features, such as Intelligent Auto mode, Optical Image Stabilization, and Face Detection. As for both FS42 and FS62 models, they sport a 10 megapixel sensor, a 4x optical zoom lens, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection, and and Optical Image Stabilization (only for FS62). No words on pricing at the moment though.

Comes with a price tag of 320 euro (about $404), Yashica ADV-596HD video camcorder sports a 5.17 megapixel CMOS sensor that is capable of recording video in either 720p (WVGA, 60fps) and 1080p (QVGA, 30fps) resolution. Recorded videos will be stored on a SDHC media card slot (not sure about the availability of onboard storage, up to 8GB card supported) in AVC/H.264 (.mov) media format. While this is a cheap HD-ready camcorder, I suggest you to think twice before you buy it, especially because of that pricey tag. Most cheap handycam usually have low quality image / movie processor which resulting in dark and sometime blurred video…

Aiming to help newbie gets into the world of DSLR, Samsung released WB500, a point-and-shoot DSLR camera, featuring a 10 megapixel camera with a 24mm wide angle lens, a 10x optical zoom, and image stabilizer function. Measures 10.5 x 6.14 x 3.65 cm and weighs 219 grams, the camera also supports H.264 720p video recording. If interested, WB500 DSLR camera is retailed for 398,000 Won or around €225 (US $290).

The newest 10.1 megapixel digital camera from Sony, DSC-G3, is not only capable of taking great pictures, but also for browsing the web directly from the camera, thanks to its built-in WiFI module and web browser application. Once connected, you can easily upload your photos or videos to those media sharing websites, such as YouTube, Picasa, and Flickr; right after you shoot. No PC required. Definitely a must-have for every serious/professional bloggers!

According to Phil Lubell, director of digital camera marketing at Soyn Electronics, “Research shows that our customers greatly value sharing images and video clips, but they often forget or don’t have enough time if they wait to get home to upload images. Our new Cyber-shot DSC-G3 camera provides the simplicity and convenience of sharing in the moment, while the impulse is still fresh in people’s minds.”

Becomes the world’s first digital camera with built-in WiFI connectivity, DSC-G3 will come with complimentary AT&T WiFI access to Sony’s Easy Upload Home Page until January 31st, 2012. This offer allows users to connect through thousands of AT&T hotspots across the United States, including participating coffee shops, selected book stores and major quick-serve restaurant locations, as well as hundreds of upscale hotels and airports.

Since WiFI is the camera main feature, the company has made this function as accessible as possible. By simple pressing the WLAN button on the camera will immediately open its pre-installed web browser. It will then search for the available wireless access point and connect to one. Of course, you will not just able to upload the photos (and videos) on the net, you could also access them later (via the web browser) and show off your collection to your friends and family.

Other features include a 3.5-inch touch-panel LCD widescreen, support for DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) guidelines which lets the digicam to pair up with any other DLNA-compatible devices (Sony Bravia TV or Sony VAIO laptop for example), a 4x optical zoom Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, a 4GB onboard memory with Memory Stick media card slot for additional space storage, photo album, Face Detection function, Smile Shutter function, and an Intelligent Scene Recognition that automatically identifies a total of eight types of scenes — backlight, backlight portrait, twilight, twilight portrait, twilight using a tripod, portrait, landscape and macro — and automatically optimizes camera settings for each challenging shooting situation, taking an additional shot in low and bright light scenarios.

Other interesting function is the anti-blink detector that automatically takes two shots and removes the one with the subject(s) closed eyes. If both pictures have subject(s) with closed eyes, the cameras will record one and display a warning so you can try again. Say goodbye to bad, ugly closed-eye photos.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-G3 digital camera is available immediately for around $500 (black-colored). It can purchased online at sonystyle.com, at Sony Style® retail stores (www.sonystyle.com/retail), at military base exchanges and at authorized dealers nationwide.

Sony showcased Cyber-Shot DSC-W220 digital camera during CES 2009 event. This point-and-shoot camera comes with a 12.1 megapixel CCD sensor, a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar 4x optical zoom with 30 millimeter (equivalent) wide angle view, a 2.7-inch display, HDMI out, and 15MB of onboard storage with Memory Stick slot for external memory. Sounds nothing special, but take a look at these two functions called Intelligent Scene Recognition and Dynamic Range Optimizer. Previously only available in high-end Cyber-Shot series, these features help users get the best out of this camera.

Intelligent Scene Recognition automatically recognizes a total of five scenes—twilight portrait, twilight, twilight using a tripod, backlight and backlight portrait; and optimizes the camera settings for shooting situations, taking an additional shot in low and bright light scenarios when there are two different approaches to shooting a scene so users can choose which picture they would like to keep.

As for the Dynamic Range Optimizer, it uses a sophisticated algorithm to determine the best exposure and contrast settings in almost any shooting environment, giving images a natural look with clearer details that match what you see with your naked eye. Wonderful, isn’t it?

Other features include Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization and the incorporation of the company’s Smile Shutter technology automatically captures a smile the moment it happens. There’s also an adult and child priority setting while shooting scenes containing both adults and children, and the camera will distinguish one face from another.

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W220 digital camera is retailed for around $190. Four different colors are available: silver, black, pink, and blue.

Sony unveiled the new flash-based camcorders, HDR-CX100, featuring a 4 megapixel CCD sensor, an 8GB of onboard storage (enough for couple hours of motion) with Memory Stick Pro Duo slot for external memory, a 10x optical zoom lens, and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. This camcorder supports Full-HD resolution video recording, guaranteeing a high-quality movie-recorded result for your memorable moment.

Other video recorder announced by Sony this week includes Sony DCR-SX60 (16GB), DCR-SX41 (8GB), and DCR-SX40 (4GB) models.

Casio introduced its new 12.1-megapixel Exilim EZ-Z400 digital camera. It comes with a nice packed of features that would make both beginner and intermediate photographers happy — a 4x optical zoom lens, a 28mm wide-angle lens, a 3-inch display, image stabilizer function, and a battery that lasts for up to 550 shots. The camera is available in three different flavours (brown, gold, and pink) and can be purchased for $299.99.

One of EX-Z400’s main feature is the usage of the company’s proprietary EXILIM Engine 4.0 that sports a high-speed image processing capabilities and Dynamic Photo function which lets photographers to cut out the main subject of interest in an image that has just been captured and then combine it with another image to form the background. Users can also cut and paste several rapid-succession images to create a moving subject on a still background. Along with Exilim EX-Z400, the company also has three more new digital cameras — the EX-Z270, EX-S12, and EX-S5. The latter boasts a compact body based on a new design concept which makes high-quality photographic functionality simpler to use than ever before. These three digicams will be retailed for $229.99 (black, gray, gold, pink), $249.99 (silver, pink, green, black), and $179.99 (blue, black, gold, silver, pink, purple). Enough color options for everyone.

Takara Tomy has done a quite great job — combining a photo printer into its new XIAO Tip-521 digital camera, thus allowing users to store up to 20 photos and then printing it immediately without the need of PC or separate photo printer, thanks to the incorporation of ZeroInk Technology. Other features include a 5 megapixel CCD sensor, a 16MB of internal memory with SD/SDHC media card slot for additional storage space, and a 2.48-inch display.

Casio Exilim EX-Z20 digicam will hit the store in December.

VM-MX25E is the second generation of Samsung’s compact SD video camcorder. With built-in support for YouTube, the camera boasts a H.264 format, up to 8 hours of DVD quality (640×480) recording on a 16GB SD card (up to 32GB supported), and a new 3-D Noise Reduction function which improves the video quality in low light condition.

Samsung VM-MX25E video camcorder is retailed for $340. Two colors will be available, black or red.
