How to Convert Webshots Files to JPG

Sponsored Links

The idea of this tutorial is coming from this thread. BigBen asked how to open the Webshots file (WBC, WB1, WBZ, WBD, WBP), using Photoshop.

the problem i have is that all there photos are *.wb1…how can i have them with an extention that i can open with photoshop for example…thanks !

WebShots is an exellent desktop application where we can download many wonderful photos from their site and use it as our desktop wallpaper.

After googling for a while, I found a small tool that would do just what BigBen want, convert the Webshots file into JPG. JPG format is widely supported by most image editing software, including Photoshop. The handy application is called Ultimate Webshots Converter. You can download it from their website (in French language. Just browse through the menu on top and find link to the download page).

Now here’s a quick tutorial on how to use UWC to convert your Webshots file.

  1. Run UWC. Select File – Open.

  2. Select the Webshoots file you want to convert. Click Open.

  3. A new dialog will be opened and you can see the image there. Now click on Save (the Disk icon).

  4. Save Dialog appears. Enter the name of the converted file, then click Save. In this example, I simply name it ‘test’.

  5. That’s it! The Webshots file has been converted into JPG. You can see it on the Explorer and open it with your favourite image editor if you want.

  6. If you have a large number of Webshots files that you want to convert, use the Batch Convert tool. It will convert several files at once. Just select the directory or multiple Webshots files, and it’d convert them all. The filename will be the same as the original filename though (but with different extension), so you have to rename the filename manually after that.

Hope this simple tutorial is clear enough to understand :p

Somehow I found this by a helpful simple tutorial by :p – thank you so much – I will endeavour to download UWC – it looks OK to me and should be exactly what I need – I was about to delete all my WB1 files when I found your helpful remarks. I really appreciate this and can’t thank you enough – it’s in the 40’s here and I’m 68 and not very well at present because of scorcher today.

Is there a better download way to make sure there are no problems??
