MSI (Micro-Star International) officially announced their first two Wind-brand laptops, the Wind U100-Windows and Wind U100-Linux. Priced at $499 and $399 respectively, both notebook PCs feature a 10-inch LED backlight display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, and an 80GB of SATA hard drive. They are equipped with Intel 945GMS chipset, a 802.11b/g WiFI connectivity, built-in 56K modem, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN, an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam module, stereo speakers, three USB ports, a 4-in-1 media card reader, and VGA out port.
Weighs 2.6 pounds, MSI Wind U100-Windows runs on Microsoft Windows XP Home operating system and sports a 1GB of DDR2 main memory, and a 6-cell battery. Regarding MSI Wind U100-Linux laptop, it weighs 2.3 pounds and boasts a 512MB RAM, a 3-cell battery, and a Novell Linux OS.
Both MSI Wind mini laptops come in three flavours: black, white, and pink.
