As mentioned last year, Asus is going to release the Windows XP version of its affordable “Asus EEE PC 4G” ultra-portable laptop. Well, according to Laptop Magazine, that ultra-compact 7-inch notebook will be ready to hit the US retail market in the first half of April (or April 9th to be precise) with a price tag of $399 (BestBuy). The rest of the specs include an Intel Celeron M processor, a 512MB of main memory, a 4GB of Flash memory-based storage, and built-in web camera.
Another news coming for the touchscreen version of Eee. According to Digitimes, Asustek’s Eee PC 900 will start shipping in May or June. It’d come with an 8.9-inch touchscreen panel and an integrated GPS navigation support. The price is set at $500, said Kevin Lin, vice president of Asustek’s sales department.
