Dell updated its product portfolio with its first 14-inch widescreen mobile workstation named “Precision M2300″. This Santa Rosa-based laptop is powered by an Intel PM965 chipset, an Intel Core 2 Duo procesor (up to 2.6GHz supported), up to 4GB of main memory with an additional 80GB HDD, an optional 32BG SSD, a 128MB nVidia Quadro FX 360M graphics engine, and up to 160GB of 7,200rpm hard drive. It is also equipped with a modular bay, a secondary 6-cell battery, 4 x USB ports, Firewire port, Serial port, and VGA output. Regarding its display, it supports up to 1440×900 resolution.
As for connectivity, this Precision M2300 mobile workstation provides 802.11n draft standard, Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 56K modem, and an optional mobile broadband EVDO Rev. A module for the Verizon’s network. Moreover, weighs 5 pounds, the laptop also boasts an integrated SmartCard reader, along with Trusted Platform Module 1.2 and optional biometric fingerprint reader for enhanced security.
Dell Precision M2300 laptop is retailed for $1,439 (base configuration) after instant savings. It is available through Dell’s Small & Medium Business online store.
