Finally, more detail about Samsung’s upcoming UMPC, the “SPH-P9200″ or “Deluxe MIT SPH-P9200″. I haven’t posted about this ultra mobile PC before because there isn’t much info about it. But since the manual has just leaked on the internet, here goes the specs: a 1GHz VIA C7-M processor, a 512MB of main memory, a 30GB of hard drive, 5-inch (800×480) touchscreen display, and folding full QWERTY keyboard. It is also equipped with an integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, 2 x USB ports, and an optical joystick with mouse buttons. Connectivity options include a 802.11 WiFI, WiBro, Ethernet LAN, and HSDPA. No Bluetooth, but still a nice configs.

Weighs 1.43 pounds, Samsung SPH-P9200 UMPC can accompany you for up to 2.5 hours of run time using a standard battery. This can be doubled (up to 5 hours) by using an extended battery unit which is probably long enough to let you finish your office work at home.

No words on pricing and international availability at the moment.

Great computer! Until now I have been unimpressed with all the umpc computers. They have been prodominately large clunky devices with no keyboard or a thumb keyboard. A few added keyboards but they are too large so I might as well get a subnotebook with more power. The OQO is pocket size but has no touch type keyboard.

This is definately out of the box and a great device to really accomplish something when mobile. I know it is not the fastest processor or most memory but at least it appears to be pocket size from the specification when folded and it has a nice keyboard. ok so when it is going to be sold in the states?

Until I read this review I have been very unimpressed with the UMPC’s as they seemed to be expensive toys. Without a touch type keyboard all of the other UMPC’s can not be your only computer. I think this new creative UMPC is something I’d like to see more of the other companies emulate. I would buy this type of UMPC but none of the slate only devices.

I’ve kept up with technology especially the UMPC’s and mobile PDA’s as I’ve wanted to find a laptop replacement. Until this device I did not think it was possible. This is a fantastic device and a perfect compact computer with a real keyboard. Please keep us posted as when it will be available in the US and the price.

    yeah the design is NICE..

but wait till you see the keyboard slide to open!!

truly a mechanism that incorporates both design AND functionality.

go to youtube and check it out in action.

That is the perfect way to provide an easy to use touch type keyboard yet enable a true laptop to fit in a coat pocket! Wonderful! why haven’t any US companies thinking out of the box? Tell me where I can buy one, I want one now!

I checked out that youtube video! that is the most amazing computer I have seen! This thing makes the rest of the UMPC’s look like useless toys. Whom wants to use full windows without a real keyboard? That is why the other UMPC’s will never sell no matter the price, etc. as they lack the functionality of this amazing computer!
