Sony unveils several new laptops today. One is this VAIO G2 series, a stylish notebook PC featuring Intel Core 2 Duo (U7500 or U7600) processor and Solid State Disk (SSD). SSD is a data storage device that uses solid-state memory to store persistent data. SSD emulates conventional hard disk drive, thus easily replacing it in any application. With no moving parts, a solid state drive largely eliminates seek time, latency and other electro-mechanical delays and failures associated with a conventional hard disk drive. Sony offers three different choice of SSD capacity on its G2: 32GB, 48GB, and 64GB.
Sony VAIO G2 laptop is scheduled to hit the Japan store in October.
