Sony has just signed a groundbreaking deal with BT to bring wireless broadband capability onto its PSP (Playstation Portable) gaming device. For the initial debut, this partnership will integrate PSP with BT’s Broadband Video and Voice “SoftPhone” products. In the next couple of months, both companies hope that several additional functionalities can be added, including phone call to PCs, fixed lines, and mobiles.

According to Steve Andres, BT chief, Mobility and Convergence, “The combination of SCEE and BT working together is a natural fit. The PSP is an excellent device for both gaming and communications, because of its high quality screen and audio capabilities.
