Before I turned my heart on Acer’s TM3274WXMi, I was thinking of buying one of Fujitsu’s tablet PC which said to have built-in 3G/HSDPA support (sorry, I forget the model number). However, eventhough it’s already included on the brochure, the local Fujitsu’s branch told me that the laptop is not released yet. Not until March or April. And since I need a Windows-based laptop urgently, I finally choosed the Vista-based TravelMate 3274WXMi machine.

Well, during the recent 3GSM World Congress 2007, Fujitsu Siemens demonstrated the world’s first notebook to have built-in support for the new UMTS standard called HSUPA (High-Speed Upload Package Access). This fortcoming laptop will be able to deliver data at up to 7.2Mbps through HSDPA (download) and send them at up to 1.4Mbps through HSUPA (upload). Both connectivities will be provided by one of Sierra Wireless’ cards. Furthermore, as stated on the company’s press release, it’ll be ready for sale very soon this Summer.

According to GottaBeMobile, this HSUPA-ready ultra-portable laptop will have a codename of Helios and “considerably smaller than the typical HP, Acer or Dell 12-inch systems”.
