More Detail About Asus U1F Laptop

Asustek, or widely known as Asus, has officially announced the detail specifications of its upcoming LED backlight-powered laptop, the U1F model. Weighs 2.2 pounds, the Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset-based notebook is powered by an Intel Core Duo U2400 ULV (Ultra-Low Processor), a DDR2 667MHz main memory, and up to 80GB of hard drive. It comes with a 11.1-inch (1360×768) widescreen display, incorporating the latest LED backlight technology which is half the width of and 1/3 lighter than the traditional LCD panel. This next-gen display also operates with lowers power consumption and offers better luminance as well as faster response time. Furthermore, according to the press release, it also adopts the company’s proprietary Splendid Color Enhancement Engine that delivers vivid colors and sharp details.
Back to specs. Regarding connectivity, Asus U1F laptop provides 802.11a/b/g WiFI, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, and Bluetooth. The machine is equipped with an integrated 0.3 megapixel webcam module, a fingerprint scanner with TPM (Trusted Platform Module), four USB ports, VGA out, and New Card slot. No DVD drive? Don’t worry. An External Blu-Ray/DVD Super Multi combo drive is also available an an optional feature.
Comes with a piano-painted LCD cover and carbon fiber alloy housing with genuine leather bound palm rest, the laptop utilizes Power4 Gear Extreme power management, which extends the battery life up to 20-25% and provides a reliable and continous operation power.
Asus is going to showcase U1F laptop at CeBIT Show 2007 in Hannover, Germany in March. Hopefully the company will spill further info on pricing and availability at the event.
