Asus A8Jr Laptop - First With ATI Mobility Radeon X2300

Asus yesterday announced A8Jr, its first laptop series (also world’s first actually) to utilize the new ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics engine. Along with the HD-ready display engine, the 14.1-inch widescreen notebook also features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG, Mobile Intel 945PM Express chipset, optional Bluetooth connectivity, five USB ports, TV-out port, DVI port, media card reader, ExpressCard slot, and IEEE1394 (Firewire) port. Weighs 5.27 pounds (incl. 6-cell battery), the machine comes pre-installed with either Windows XP Home Edition or Professional Edition OS.
As for the ATI Mobility Radeon X2300, according to the press release, it will boost graphical performance, and utilize ATI’s HyperMemory management technology to deliver enhanced ‘performance-per-watt’ operations. It will also offer Certified for Windows Vista 3D graphics that supports the visually stunning Windows Aero user interface.
