LG To Release LN500 GPS Navigation

LG keeps trying to strengthen its position on the newly-entered GPS market by releasing a new range of portable navigation system, LN500. This new entry-level PND comes with a a standard 3.5-inch colors LCD touch screen display with 65K colors and 240×320 resolution, integrated antenna, and a generous 512MB of ROM pre-loaded with maps of France from Navteq. Furthermore, it is equipped with Destinator 6 navigation software, photo viewer (BMP, GIF, and JPG supported), and pre-installed Windows CE.Net operating system.
On the inside, LG LN500 navigation system is powered by an Atlas ARM9 (300MHz) processor and the SiRF Star III GPS receiver. Weighs 170 grams, there’s a SD card slot for addiitonal storage, mini USB 1.1 for PC connectivity, and three dedicated buttons on the front panel, as well as two volume controls. As for the battery, it provides up to 3 hours of continous usage.
One of the unit under LN500 series, LN505 GPS navigation, will hit the France market starting from January with a price tag of 250 EUR. It will be pre-loaded with maps of France, along with a CD with countries of Europe.
