The N6290 is the third cell phone, after the previously mentioned 6300 and 6086 models, displayed by Nokia during its annual Capital Market Days in Amsterdam. This smartphone, based on the popular Symbian OS platform, provides a fast data transfer rate through 3G connection for web browsing, video call, mobile TV, and much more. It uses the new S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 software that has been announced back in October during the symbian Smartphone Show. This upgraded version of S60 3rd Edition offers an enhanced browsing experiences with full web and mobile optimized content.

With the 3G subscriber base expected to double over the next year, there is a strong need for 3G models like the Nokia 6290 smartphone in our portfolio.”
A glance at the body, the Nokia 6290 looks classic yet ergonomic. This cell phone is designed to fulfill professional’s hunger of hectic business and social calendar balancing. The preloaded mobile search application makes searching for information such an easy task, while the handy Setup Wizard will guide users through the process of establishing their specific email, MMS functions as well as operator-specific settings.
On the specs department, Nokia 6290 features a 2.2-inch QVGA 16M colors internal display, a 2 megapixel camera module with 4x digital zoom, an integrated MP3 music player with stereo surround sound, video call, and rich email functionality which supports various attachments, including PPT, PDF, Word and Excel. Regarding battery, it provides juices for up to 3.5 hours talktime and 10 days standby time.
Nokia 6290 cell phone will be shipped in the first quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of 325 euros before subsidies or taxes.
