Lenovo has just announced the convertible version of its popular Thinkpad X60 laptop. The 12-inch X60 tablet PC, priced at $1,799 (base configuration), features a new MultiView indoor/outdoor anti-reflective/anti-glare display screen with 170° viewing angle and new MultiTouch feature that allows users to move the cursor with their pen or finger. It also boasts the company’s patent-pending Active Rotate function which automatically change the orientation of the screen depend on the position of the users, no matter which direction it turns. Sounds impressive.
On the specs-deparment, Thinkpad X60 Tablet PC is equipped with an Intel 945GM chipset, Intel GMA950 graphics engine, and Intel’s Low Voltage Core Duo and Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) Core Solo processor. Various connectivity options are available, including 802.11 WiFI, Ethernet LAN, WWAN, 56K modem, and optional Bluetooth. It also comes with a DVD burner and supports up to 120GB HDD and up to 4GB RAM.
Weighs 3.8lbs, X60 convertible laptop will be preloaded with Windows XP Tablet PC Edition, and already compatible with the next generation Windows Vista. Furthemore, its internal battery can deliver juice for up to 7.5 hours between charges.
Lenovo is planned to start shipping the ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC in the early December.
