Gateway Upgrades Direct PC Laptop and Desktop PC

On its recent press release, Gateway Inc. announced that it has just given a new life to several laptops and Desktop PCs under the Direct PC line-up. All of those computers will now feature an Intel’s dual core technology, Microsoft Office Basic, and Windows Vista compatiblity. In addition, all standard Direct laptops configuration will include Bluetooth connectivity and port replicator capabilities, while the desktop lines will have digital flat panel LCD displays.
For an example, let’s check out the new entry-level DX310S Desktop PC. Priced at $799, this PC offers an Intel Pentium D 930 processor, 160GB of 7,200rpm HDD, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, DVD SuperMulti drive, ATI Radeon X300 graphics engine, 9-in-1 media card reader, and a digital flat panel LCD display. Furthermore, the desktop will be pre-loaded with Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system and will come with Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003.
Another example is the NX260X laptop. Its new generation will now packed with an Intel Core Duo T2050 (1.6GHz) processor, 14.1-inch WXGA TFT LCD display, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, 80GB of HDD, DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and 7-in-1 media card reader. Bluetooth and WiFI connectivity will be included as well on the laptop that is retailed for $1,250. Like the DX310S desktop PC, NX260X will also have Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition and Microsoft Office Basic pre-installed by default.
