Nakamichi recently presented a nicely designed portable DVD player called Lumos. Not sure whether they’re a fans of Harry Potter or not (Lumos is one of the spell in HP’s world that creates a light on the edge of the magic stick), but this DVD player does come with a crisp and bright 7-inch widescreen colors TFT LCD display with up to 1440×234 pixels resolution. Measures at just 203 x 155 x 27 mm and weighs 480 grams, Lumos supports wide-range of media formats, including DVD, VCD, SVCD, CD, MP3, DVD-R/RW, CDR/RW, JPEG, picture CD, CD+G. Both NTSC and PAL video formats are supported as well. Furthermore, a handy SD card reader is provided, so you can display pictures or photos captured by your digital cameras (that use SD card) on the device.
Interestingly, if you have a home theater system at home (like this), you can connect it with the Lumos since this portable DVD player provides a 5.1 channel digital audio output. Wow, that’s pretty cool feature, isn’t it? And to make you love the device more, Nakamichi includes several useful accessories on the package, such as leather strap (actually, this one is built-in on the player) for carrying the baby around and show it off to your friends, extendable stand, and even a remote control if you’re too lazy to get up from your chair.
Lumos Portable DVD Player is available now for $3,980 HKD or approximately US$512.
PS: For Harry Potter fans, grab the Lumos font here if you haven’t had it yet.
