A week after the NA701 laptop released, Epson adds another notebook to its Japanese Enveavor range, the NA101. Available in grey and white, this Vista-ready laptop is powered by either Intel Celeron M 423 (1.06GHz) or Intel Core Solo U1400 (1.2GHz) processor - both ULV (Ultra Loww Voltage) edition -, Mobile Intel 945GMS Express chipset, 512MB of DDR2 RAM (expandable up to 1.5GB), 30GB of ZIF HDD or 40GB of IDE HDD (up to 100GB), and a DVD burner. It has a 12.1-inch XGA (1024×768) TFT LCD display and offers various connectivity options, such as 3-in-1 memory card reader (SD, MMC, Memory Stick), Ethernet LAN, and standard modem. WiFI and Bluetooth V2.0+EDR are available as an opt-in.
The laptop itself boasts its ultralight weight. The casing is made of magnesium alloy and it uses the smallest and the lightest motherboard on the market. Thus, without an optical drive, reducing its weight down to just 1.1 kg. The laptop, measures 281 × 237 × 32~35 mm, can also brings 2 batteries at once and boosts its usage time up to 12 hours. Neat.
To be retailed for 129,800 Yen, Endeavor NA101 laptop will include the following features as well - three USB 2.0 ports, built-in microphone, headphone jack, IEEE1394 terminal, Mini D-Sub (15 pin) interface, PC Card Type I/II slot, and fingerprint sensor. It will have Microsoft Windows XP Home/Profession Edition (SP2) operating system pre-installed, along with several handy applications, such as Norton AntiVirus 2006 OEM edition, Adobe® Reader, LiquidView, and LiquidSurf.
