Philips recently announced three new portable GPS navigation devices under its PNS (personal Navigation System) range - the PNS 100, PNS 120, and PNS 150. At just 10 cm long and less than 2 cm thick, all of these 3 GPS models can be easily attached to the windshielf of the car since they come with a special cradles with built-in amplifier, speaker, and control buttons. You can use the (big) buttons to scale the map, change the sound volume, and access the menu. Alternatively, simply use your finger since the LCD display is a touch screen type.
So what’s the different between the three PNS GPS devices? Well, the PNS 100 is for those who just need a simple navigation device that works. It only offers a pre-installed maps a single country and main roads of Europe. The PNS 120 model is a little bit more advance than that since it provides double memory size. With the included map data DVD, you can install the detail maps of other European countries on the GPS. The last one is the PNS 150. Equipped with an integrated TMC-receiver (Traffic Message Channel), it is able to track traffic jams or road works and even find alternative ways. It also provides a complete Western Europe maps as well as a remote control.
Philips PNS 100 GPS will hit the European market in September, while the PNS 120 and 150 will follow in October.
