Thomson Electronics has launched its new portable MP3 player with (uninteresting) name, the Lyra PDP2662S. Fortunately, it has a bunch of interesting features, such as ability to display vital information (calories burnt, pulse rate, etc), joystick navigation, and up to 40 hours of playback. This digital audio player is waterproof too, which means, combined with other training stats above, it would be a nice gadget to bring along when you go running, swimming, or hiking. But maybe waiting for the upcoming Nike+iPod Sport Kit would be a wiser decision to take, don’t you think? Well, I know you have to purchase additional Nike+ footwear and iPod Nano for using the Sport Kit, but hey, it’s way much cooler than this Lyra thing.

Anyway, back to Lyra PDP2662S, this MP3 player is equipped with only 512MB of memory capacity and probably no external memory support, Powered by AA batteries, it is available for $90 or around 70 EUR.
