This is the second laptop from ProStar I’ve ever posted on this site. The first one was the PR37240 model, back on December last year. Now let’s talk about the PR9068-4A. The 17-inch notebook, weighs 13 pounds and measures 11.7 x 15.5 x 1.9 inches, is powered by AMD’s Athlon 64 X2 (dual core!) 4800+ processor, 1GB of RAM (expandable up to 2GB), 120GB of 5,400rpm HDD, and nVidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX graphics card with 256MB of DDR2 VRAM. Equipped with do-anything-you-want DVD drive and operates under Windows XP Home Edition operating system, this laptop also offers four USB 2.0 ports, DVI, VGA, S-Video, Ethernet, integrated modem, WiFI and Infrared connectivity (no bluetooth?), OneType II PC Card slot, and 7-in-1 memory card reader. The price is around $3,474.
LaptopMag has a detail review about this ProStar PR9068-4A laptop. Excerpt from the review:
Dual core on 17-inch gaming systems is finally here, but we’re still waiting for the payoff. Besides a few isolated programs, most software can’t take advantage of this notebook’s ability to simultaneously process two streams of data. The upside is that when software finally does become available—and it will—you’ll have no problems running it on this system. What it lacks in the design department, the ProStar PR9068-4A makes up for in power and price.
