Hisense PDH4217EU - 42-Inch Plasma TV With DCDi

And here’s the last PDP TV from Hisense at DigiTronics 2006 event, the PDH4217EU model. This plasma TV features a 42-inch width screen with 1024×768 resolution, a brightness of 1500cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 10000:1, 160 degrees of viewing angle, SCART, PC, VGA, and DVI input. Unlike the other two plasma TVs, there’s no PIP and PBP feature here. The PDH4217EU also features a DCDi technology by Faroudji that increase the quality of the image displayed on the screen.
DCDi (Directional Correlation Deinterlacing) is a digital enhancement method developed by Faroudja in 1996. DCDi technology is primarily used for improving the image quality of low resolution images. This is done by deinterlacing the image and blending rough edges occurring in diagonal lines. The technique is often used in LCD and plasma television sets. DCDi technology is also present in the Sage FLI2200 chip, which is used in many DVD players. [ source ]
