Good news. Sony finally unveiled the release date and estimated price of the third generation of Playstation. Kaz Hirai, president of Sony, said at the E3 2006 event that Playstation 3 (PS3) will be released in Japan on November 11th. It will then see the light of United States on November 17, 2006. There’ll be two variants of PS3, one with 20GB of HDD and the other with 60GB. The 20GB version will retail for $499 in the US or 59800 yen in Japan. However, if you spend an extra $50 for the 60GB version, you’ll not just receive the extra 40GB HDD, you will also get the Memory Stick, SD, or Compact Flash inputs, Wi-Fi capabilities, or any HDMI output.
