HP recently announced five (yes, FIVE) new laptops, all under the Compaq range. Let’s talk about them one by one, starting from this nc8400 model. This notebook, aimed at professional workers, sports an ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 graphics card with 256MB of VRAM that would be perfect for handling multimedia tasks, such as 3D images, graphical drawings, and visual presentations. Of course, a hard multimedia jobs not only require a powerful graphics engine, but also a powerful processor. And that’s why the Core Duo processor (either T2400 or T2600) from Intel is taking care of the calculation inside. Too bad it only has 15.4-inch, either WSXGA+ or WUXGA wide viewing angle, display.

Compaq nc8400 laptop is equipped with 512MB of RAM, 3 USB 2.0, VGA, mic in, line out, 1394, power, RJ-11, RJ-45, 10/100/1000 Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express Controller with HP Smart Power NIC Technology and56K V.92 modem with digital line guard, and Microsoft Windows XP operating system. For the optical drive, you can choose between a DVD-ROM, DVD/CD-RW combo, DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer, or LightScribe DVD+/-RW with Double Layer.

HP Compaq nc8400 laptop will be available from May 22th with a standard configuration start from $2,299.00.
